Presentation

Presentation, the most scariest thing to do in my life. I was required to present 'Professional and Professionalism'. Recalling back, I finished the information gathering and Powerpoint presentation once the assignment was handed out. Before the day came to present, my group members and I rehearsed for times. We calculated the timing and we summarised the information to make it shorter yet details.

In the presentation, we did what we had prepared. My group member did not performed well. She kept forgetting what to talk. She blamed herself and apologised to me. What I could do was to console her to make her feel better. Everything was now past. When it was my turn, I presented what I prepared. Something interesting happened. At first, the lecturer pointed his watch to inform us about the time. I did not what to do. I skipped some contents and went for conclusion immediately.

Later, the lecturer talked to me. He said that the reason he pointed his watch was just to inform me about the short of time. He did not mean to stop me. To my surprise, I was given second chance to present again. He said he wanted to be fair to me. To my surprise again, he thought we skipped the content to talk about the ethic of professional and actually we had presented it. I joked to him 'Sir, you did not pay attention'. How dare I was. ^^. Immediately, he apologised for that. Then I started over the presentation again beginning from the animated scenario. Personally, i felt that he was interested with the animated scenario I had adapted from a Hong Kong website. He seemed to be attentive with that.

If I was not given the second chance and explanation from us about the ethic of professional, we might get a very low mark. God bless me so much. Thanks. However, I still have 4 presentations to do, arghhh!!

Site Visit

Today, we were brought to site visit. This visit was far interesting than the previous. We were received a very welcoming reception from the staff there. I joked with my lecturer whether refreshment was provided. To my surprise, it was.

Although it rained, we felt the happiness in our hearts. Everyone was so excited with what they were doing. We were brought to visit many houses which are still under renovation. My group was so unlucky that the tenant pissed off with our visit to his house and shouted at the staff. The staff joked that she would be shouted again soon after today. Poor her. We were brought to have a close look to the roof renovation. We climbed the scaffolding, we took pictures, we discussed, we joked, we listened to the explanation of the roof worker about the construction method. It was so joyous.

We were told about a grass roof construction. Many of them were surprised with such roof. In Malaysia, you will never see grass roof. I am so impressed with the UK policy for environmental-friendliness. Every is about green. Unlike Malaysia, what the developers want is profit, speed of construction but low in quality. It is no wonder I feel so peaceful and relaxing staying in the UK. I was not surprised with the grass roof as I knew it from the England class. Of course i was surprised to be told about the grass roof at the first time.

This site visit had brightened the day. I am so grateful with all the efforts of The University. In Tar college, no one will bother to organise such activity to us. Like I said, profit is the utmost importance to them. I feel in love with the UK educational system now. However, from this site visit I start to feel weird. Why English prefer to have a bigger garden and the their houses r so small? Is it set in UK construction law? I want have the answer.

An Amazing Trip To Whitby

Whitby, a beautiful town in seaside. The trip in Whitby was too amazing. Fortunately, today was a sunny day. The sky was specially beautiful and blue. I really fall into the sky, especially in Whitby. The sky seemed to be bluer than Sheffield. Maybe the effect of the sea, I don't know. Comparing to Blackpool, I prefer Whitby.

We walked around Whitby Abbey, followed by the pier through St. Marys' Church and 199 steps. We later took a look in First Bight. Unfortunately, i slipped while walking down to the bight, not seriously injured but painful. My friend said the way I slipped was too beautiful and should be captured down with video. ==. The view in the bight was indescribably beautiful. It was just like a heaven to me. I am really thankful for such a beautiful weather.

We enjoyed playing in Whitby Sands after going for boat sailing. To my surprise, my friend went down playing water. I felt a change in him today, seriously. In what sense, i am not sure. I am pretty sure that I am happy about the change. Unfortunately, my coursemate lost his handphone and camera while he played in the seaside. A bunch of his friends searched but in vain. It was not a good idea to bring along the electronic devices while playing in the seaside.

Today's trip was so fantastic and enjoyable to me overall. I bought a framed ship model, costing 10 pounds. If my mom knows, she may kill me. ^^ The 25-min boat sailing was worth to go and cost only 2 pounds.
